Men's Ministry

The Men’s Ministry at Duluth First United Methodist Church is growing and organizing! God is motivating men for service and spiritual growth at Duluth First United Methodist Church. Do you want to help organize and serve in this ministry? The United Methodist Men’s Executive Committee is forming and beginning to meet regularly to provide structure and guidance to Men’s Ministry. If you would like to participate in this effort, please contact the church office.
27:17, a monthly ecumenical men's fellowship and dinner open to all men of all ages, is based on Proverbs 27:17 - "Iron sharpens iron as one man sharpens another". Its purpose is to bring men together from all walks of life so that they may sharpen each other against the difficulties and temptations faced in the world. Each month we come together for great food, clean jokes, testimonials from other men, and to make new friendships. This group, dedicated to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is based on the idea that Christian men need support in their walk with God. Hopefully, we will all leave each month's meeting sharpened by the presence of other Godly men.

Men's Fraternity Begins September 11th
Men's Fraternity is returning to the Duluth/Suwanee area with the series "Winning at Work and Home".
The series will kick-off at Duluth First UMC beginning Saturday,
September 11th, at 8 a.m. using the DVD series recorded by Robert
Lewis, author of "Raising a Modern Day Knight", "Rocking the Roles: Building a Win-Win Marriage" and "The New Eve - Choosing God's Best for Your Life" as the stage for "Winning at Work and Home".
The first "semester" will run for 10 meetings, ending right before
Christmas. There will be a break over the holidays, and Men’s
Fraternity will start back for the remaining 6 meetings.
Imagine the transforming power of men coming together within our church
and community to honestly examine their lives and take the courageous
steps necessary to embrace authentic manhood on a journey to become who
God intends them to be. That is the goal of Men's Fraternity. When men
connect in life-changing ways, a powerful ripple effect touches
families, workplaces, and the church.
Deeper connections with God and other men inspire participants to
connect more meaningfully in all facets of their lives. They climb
beyond the walls of isolation and aspire to a biblical viewpoint marked
by integrity, boldness, and compassion. Through this powerful series,
men learn to reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead
courageously, and expect God's greater reward.
Join us on Saturday, September 11th, at 8 a.m. at Duluth First UMC
in the Youth Center (located on the 1st floor of the Family Life
Center). Make a commitment that might just change your life...and
your family. You'll need to order a workbook from the Men's Fraternity
website, www.mensfraternity.com.
We will have copies of the workbook material for the first session or
two to allow time for all books to come in. Coffee and bagels/pastries
will be served. Follow the signs to the entry when you arrive at the
church. Bring a friend and experience Men’s Fraternity together.
