Linda Bailey has been the Parish Nurse since August 2002. Her responsibilities include staff liaison for the Ministry of Care Committee, Health and Wellness Committee, and the Congregational Health Promoters. Some of the other areas she works with are support groups, providing personal health counseling and referrals, Wednesday Night Health and Wellness Classes, Support our Troops Ministry, Prayers & Squares and blood pressure screenings.
Linda is a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She is a R.N. who has earned her CNOR certificate. She earned her Clinical Pastoral Education unit through the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia. She works with the Gwinnett Medical Center, Congregational Health and Wellness Division for Parish Nurses. Gwinnett Medical Center and Duluth First United Methodist Church partnered together to provide this program.
Linda considers it an honor to work at Duluth First United Methodist Church with so many wonderful people. “It is such a blessing to be able to use my nursing skills and work for the glory of God here. I had never thought that would be possible until I learned about Parish Nursing when I was Ministry of Care Chairperson.”
